Our Programs
Improving the health of Bonsuoku is one of our top priorities. We believe that in order to do that we must work with the community to address public health issues and prevent illness before it happens. Our main focus areas include: health education, malaria, WASH, women's & reproductive health, and clinic improvement.
Through workshops and empowerment groups we are hopeful to encourage children and women to become leaders in the community. Our Change Makers Project provides mentorship to children in Bonsuoku by partnering with local schools.
Agriculture
Agriculture is a vital part of life in Bonsuoku, without it living will be difficult for the people of the community. Many of these farmers still reply on crude and primitive tools such as holes and cutlass because they cannot afford the modern farming tools such as tractors. This results in less production and doesn't last them into the next farming season. We welcome local and international help to support our farming community.
Social Well-Being & Amenities
As we work to improve the community of Bonsuoku we hope to improve the overall well-being and amenities within the town. By doing this we can create employment for our residents, improve their health, and improve lives. The first amenity we would like to establish for our community is a market that can be used by not only the people of Bonsuoku, but surrounding communities as well.
Education is a starting point for improving a persons overall well-being. That is why BCF encourages all children in Bonsuoku to receive an education. We are currently fundraising for a new and improved school building in the community, and educating children through our Bright Futures Project.
All children deserve to continue their education, regardless of financial status. We strive to make that happen for the children in Bonsuoku that wish to go on to Senior High School or Vocational School.
Arts & Culture
Led by Sweet Africa, he loves to share the art and culture of the community. He hopes to teach others in Bonsuoku his craft of hand making his creations, and continue to spread awareness of the history of the area.
